Donna Baird
Donna Baird, PhD, is Senior Researcher and Policy Analyst with the Ariel Foundation. She is also an Adjunct Assistant Professor with the department of Behavioral and Social Sciences at University of Maryland University College. Dr. Baird has worked as a professional licensed clinician in New York and in the Washington, DC Metro area. Her work has involved treating individuals and families from various cultural backgrounds whose lives have been directly affected by HIV/AIDS. This led her to seek further training with NY AIDS Institute to develop expertise in the area of prevention. Dr. Baird went on to complete a post doctorate in global health at Georgetown University with a specific emphasis on HIV/AIDS prevention research. She has also holds an Executive Certificate on Negotiations from University of Notre Dame. Additionally, Dr. Baird has also worked with the Family Planning Association of Trinidad and Tobago where she served as a taskforce member to implement a UNAIDS Voluntary Counseling and Testing (VCT) project in Tobago. She also conducts workshops in conjunction with the Health Secretariat in Tobago and with the Jamaica Red Cross to address HIV/AIDS-related stigma in the Caribbean. Dr. Baird has publications and has presented worldwide on the area of HIV/AIDS prevention and stigma-related issues. . |
