Jody Kennedy

Ms Jody Kennedy has been a committed educator in the public school systems of New York for 14 years specializing in the arts and technology. Her passions lie in the field of global education and in creative uses of collaborative technologies such as interactive videoconferencing.

In the past 7 years Ms Kennedy has led her school district in developing international teaching and learning relationships with 17 countries. She and a team of international lead teachers and supporting NGO’s have been developing a model for global service learning now in it’s third pilot year that has been highly successful.

She was the recipient of the 2005 US Distance Learning Association Teacher of the Year for Videoconferencing K-12,.Her Global Education model, Global Run ,won an award for Best Practices K-12 Innovative use of Videoconferencing in 2006 and her school was a Semifinalist Goldman Sachs  Excellence in International Education
for Middle School. 

Ms Kennedy presents her work nationally and internationally at conferences and through published articles. Her team continually creates and shares video documentation of international collaborations in schools demonstrating the effectiveness and positive outcomes of global service learning models in education.

Jody lives in Mahopac, New York with her husband. She has 4 daughters.
