Ariel Foundation International is in Special Consultative Status with the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) of the United Nations
LakshyaShala EduTech conducted a program on World Children’s Day, to commemorate select points on child’s rights, with about 150 students from a Government school for children from underserved communities. The event was in partnership with Express Avenue and Ariel Foundation International.
The children were from grades 6, 7 and 8. The awareness on Child’s rights was done using visual aid and interactive sessions.

The intention was to keep the highlights of the rights simple and positive. The session covered the importance of education, and why the children have to look at it not just as their rights, but also to understand the purpose of education.
The second point on safe world meant a good environment for them to exist. Students were made to understand that each of them can become Change Agents. The dangers of single use plastic was highlighted and to cut the use of single use plastic, recycling plastic etc were discussed amongst the students. The factors of climate change and its impact were also presented. Students came forward to share their thoughts on how actions to manage the waste can be done.
Rights to good health and care also meant things started with their own personal hygiene.
The students found the session informative and thoughtful. As a follow up to the program, we will be implementing actionable solutions in the school during the coming months.
