Silvia Chilet was born and raised in a little village in Valencia, Spain. From there, she built a lot of opportunities for herself to be a global citizen.
Due to her curiosity and eagerness to make a better world, she took part in youth organizations such as Rotaract and Global Shapers. Being in touch with many youths from around the world, Silvia believes the future is on youth’s hands, and therefore it needs to be present on every aspect of decision making.
Silvia studied in the University of Valencia a doble major in Business Administration and Law with the aim of enhancing entrepreneurship, social projects and policies that are effective to reach the common good. Later on, she studied a master’s in international business law and taxation in Barcelona, where she currently works as a Tax Lawyer in a law firm.
Her mission is to give tools for youth to reach their higher potential, create opportunities for themselves and help them achieve their goals, no matter where they come from.
For that reason, it is necessary for youth to have an active role in decision making processes, for them to share their vision, fears and experiences, making their opinion count. Youth needs to be proactive and work to build their future, a fair and sustainable future where the world works together as one, looking after each other.
To achieve her goal, Silvia has participated in multiple conferences, at a European Union level – as delegate representing Young European Leadership – and at United Nations level – being an active member of the UNCTAD Youth Action Hubs and Rotary International. Moreover, she has engaged with business related programs and events, being part of a clean tech startup incubated in the European Union run Climate-KIC incubator and the bootcamp taking place in China of the Asia Pacific Innovation Academy.
